Voyces - Hero 1

In addition to our three sold out performances (Odyssey, Pilgrim, Noël) Voyces performed across a variety of genres and concert styles.

The Australian National Choral Association hosted their National Choralfest in Melbourne during 2015. Voyces was lucky enough to be invited to perform and was the only Western Australian choir that was asked to take part. Choralfest was a great event, with a number of performances and workshops along with some great opportunities to meet like-mind choral nerds!

Camp

Each year Voyces head north to New Norcia to set the tone (literally!) for the group cohesion and vocal development of the coming year.

This year we spent our camp integrating new voices into the choirs blend and preparing for our upcoming performance with PIAF. New Norcia has a rich singing history with music still being an important part of Australia’s only Monastic Town.

Voyces were privileged to be asked to perform alongside some of Australia’s best artists including John Butler Trio, Tim Minchin, Lucky Oceans and more in ‘Home’, the opening of the 2016 Perth International Arts Festival.

Performing pieces by Musical Director and Internationally acclaimed composer Iain Grandage, Voyces worked with Aboriginal elders, Richard Walley, Wayne Freer and others to perform pieces reflecting Australia’s indigenous and colonial history.
